Accused in the murder of Bajrang activist Dal Harsha, download videos from Bengaluru prison

Visuals have emerged of men charged with the murder of Bajrang Dal activist uploading photos and videos to Instagram from Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru.

Bangalore Police have launched an investigation after photos and videos of those accused in the Harsha murder case taken in jail were shared on social media. Photos showed the accused in Bajrang Dal activist uploading photos and videos to Instagram from Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru. In the photos, the accused can be seen talking on cell phones and making video calls.

As the photos went viral on social media, prison authorities conducted raids to determine how the defendants obtained cellphones inside the prison. Investigations are also underway to determine who the defendants were in contact with and whether there were any attempts to destroy evidence or derail the investigation.

Harsha, a 27-year-old Bajrang Dal activist, was axed to death by a gang of disbelievers on February 20, sparking massive outrage and concern over the law and order situation. The murder had led to widespread violence in Shivamogga. The murder case is being investigated by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the accused are being held at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru.

The development came as a shock to Harsha’s family. “The government system is flawed. There is no humanity, a life is lost and no one is committed to bringing justice,” Harsha’s sister Rajini said. “Nobody seems to care. Although the investigation is progressing, watch how the defendants talk to their wives and families. They have all the support. We have lost our brother and are in pain. The prison authorities must be suspended and we should get justice,” she added.

Padma, Harsha’s mother, said if the defendants were given such luxuries inside the prison, the government might as well release them. “We feel that justice is being denied us,” she said.
